Our social media presence evolved as we recognised the need and value of sharing our news and stories more widely on key social media platforms to communicate to family, friends, staff and our wider Pendine community.

The Pendine Rainbow Gallery was established on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and we have actively encouraged our residents, staff, family and friends to join us so that they can have a window in on the amazing things that are happening in each of our homes.
​
Our followers have grown steadily since the start and our posts have a good reach in the Pendine community.
​
We share photos and videos of our many magic moments, from Art Classes in response to music, painting giant pineapples, honouring our war heroes, huge, recycled art installations, music workshops. Carpark concerts, singing, dancing, growing vegetables and using the produce to make delicious soups and recipes, generally having fun and celebrating life.

Social media allows us to show families and friends that our residents wellbeing are protected, nurtured, and encouraged to blossom creatively however way they choose and that they are supported to live well. Many families and friends can’t always visit but from our posts can see the happiness radiating from our residents as they take part in life in our homes.
We share photos and videos of the wonderful moments our residents experience across the popular social media channels and encourage you to join us in celebration.
Our residents are also encouraged to actively participate in our social media posts, from choosing their preferred photo of themselves to be shared or suggesting where Spike the hedgehog goes next on his travels – resident involvement is key.

We are always truly overwhelmed and humbled by the huge amounts of kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, love and support we encounter from our inspirational Pendine Community. Social media is the best way to communicate our appreciation and thanks for the kindness and support we receive from our wider community and allows our community in turn to see the joy their kindness brings.

We have also found our social media platforms great for recruiting more staff to join us and for encouraging our teams to spread the word whenever we are hiring.
​
Our residents’ privacy is always respected and protected and only those that have written consent appear on any of our social media posts or PR.

We have also opened our inbox on Facebook messenger to allow people to communicate directly with us whenever the need arises.
​
We use our social media to announce competitions, share motivational quotes and news articles from our PR team and generally bring a feelgood factor to our community.
​
Our aim is to offer reassurance to loved ones that our residents lead happy, fulfilled lives, Birthdays, special occasions and events are celebrated, and our residents are always respected, loved and cared for by the whole of the Pendine team. Spirits are lifted, and the sounds of music and laughter can always be heard.
